The attempts of Aphony, Marina's father and ruler of Pacifica, to have the undersea races agree to a Peace Treaty are dashed when Titan of Titanica blitzes Pacifica. A new Pacifica is built, but Titan curses Marina and Aphony. If they speak, one of their people will die.

Whilst trying out her method of thought transference communication with her father, Marina is captured by a giant squid.

Titan launches an attack on the undersea city of Vinctan whilst Marina is there.

Titan enlists the help of the strange Doctor Nereis who offers him a robot porpoise with which to capture Marina.
